Puppeteer - Animated Music Video

Challenge & Concept:

Translating the poetic and emotional lyrics of "Puppeteer" into a cohesive, surreal visual world. The primary source material was a static photo session by Magdalena Szczykutowicz, which needed to be transformed into a full-length, 4-minute dynamic video narrative.

The inspiration came from the photographs of Magdalena Szczykutowicz, which I brought to life through subtle 2D animation and enriched with 3D elements, giving them a new symbolic dimension. The characters move like puppets guided by invisible forces — a metaphor for dependence and inner searching.

Solution & Technique:

Using multi-plane separation, camera projection, and 2.5D animation techniques combined with 3D spaces and particle effects (smoke, lighting, abstract 3D forms), I brought the static frames to life. The characters took on a puppet-like quality—serving as a visual metaphor for control, dependency, and identity.

“Puppeteer” is not only an animated music video but also a visual journey through the world of feelings and thoughts, encouraging reflection on relationships and human nature.
